Al-Asadi: Sadr ordered Abbadi to resign from the call for a second term
An official of the political bureau of Sadr's leader Moqtada al-Sadr, Zia al-Asadi, said on Friday that the latter required Abadi to resign from the membership of the Dawa Party to support his candidacy for prime minister.
Al-Asadi said in an interview that 'the resignation of Abbadi from the Dawa Party is a demand of most of the political blocs as well as the fact that most Sadr officials when they assume a certain responsibility, their association with their party affects their work'
"Asadi said, 'regarding the talks to form a government there are understandings between the others and victory and Fatah and wisdom and patriotism',
Stressing that 'the coming days may witness a meeting between the parties mentioned, leading to the formation of the nucleus of the largest bloc that will form the government'.

BGG ~ I don't think this is entirely accurate. When Sadr was on shaky ground a few days ago - he publicly backed off this requirement. Ultimately - Abadi may become the new face of the Dawa Party - once Maliki is dealt with.
