Washington confirms its keenness on the stability of Iraq and its readiness to develop its relations

The United States on Thursday stressed its keenness to stabilize Iraq and its readiness to develop bilateral relations.

"The President of the Republic Fouad Masoum received today, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Andrew Beck, and discussed with him political developments at the Iraqi and international levels."

He added that "the meeting, which was attended by US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silliman, touched on the developments of the political process in Iraq, especially the file to form the next Iraqi government as well as ways to strengthen relations between the two friendly countries."

For his part, Assistant Undersecretary of the US Secretary of State, "his country's keenness on the stability of Iraq, and its readiness to develop bilateral relations in all areas," according to the statement.
