Allawi's coalition reveals understandings between Sadr and Abadi and Barzani to form a four-party alliance
The deputy of the National Coalition Abdul Karim Abtan, on Tuesday, the understandings include his coalition headed by Vice President of the current President Iyad Allawi and Prime Minister Haider Abadi and the leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr and the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Massoud Barzani to enter into a joint alliance to form the next government.
Abtan said in a press statement, "There are significant understandings and convergence of views between the National Coalition and the Alliance and others and the coalition of victory and Barzani wing to form the next government," pointing out that "understandings may reach in the coming period to a political alliance quadrant."
He added that "the populace is continuing between all the political blocs for the purpose of forming the next government and the next few days will witness the announcement of political alliances and form a new government."
