Al-Luaibi presents the Canadian charge d'affaires with investment opportunities in the gas and oil sectors

Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luaibi on Monday presented Iraq's charge d'affaires to Iraq, Andrew Turner, with investment opportunities in the oil and gas sectors, infrastructure and transmission lines.

The Oil Ministry said in a statement received by "Economy News" that the Minister of Oil "received the charge d'affaires of the Canadian Embassy to Iraq, Andrew Turner, and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of oil and gas."

"The ministry has many investment opportunities in various sectors of oil and gas, infrastructure, refineries, oil transmission lines and other projects," the statement said, calling on Canadian oil companies to participate in the competition for those projects.

For his part, the charge d'affaires of the Canadian Embassy to Iraq, Andrew Turner, according to the statement, the government's efforts to strengthen cooperation with Iraq and the desire of Canadian companies to enter into projects to develop the oil and gas sector in Iraq.

On the other hand, Al-Luaibi met US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silliman and discussed bilateral relations in the oil and gas sectors.

"Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luaibi received the US ambassador to Baghdad, Douglas Silliman, and the delegation accompanying him. During the meeting, they discussed means of boosting bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector," the ministry said in a statement.

The statement added that Al-Luaibi stressed the importance of strengthening the relationship and developing it in all fields, especially in the oil and gas industry. He called on US oil companies to participate in investment projects in this sector as well as in the sectors of refineries, infrastructure and other projects.

In turn, the Ambassador of the United States of America, according to the statement, the desire of his country's companies to strengthen cooperation with Iraq at all levels, especially in the oil industry gas.
