Iraq Orders Assets Confiscation of Saddam Hussein, Officials of His Era


LODZ — Iraq has ordered the confiscation of entire assets belonging to former dictator Saddam Hussein, an official statement said on Monday.

The Iraqi Supreme National Commission for Accountability and Justice has also decided the seizure of mobile and immobile properties of 4,257 other people whom are described as relatives of Hussein or former officials in his regime.

The commission also stated that the confiscated properties would be registered as properties of the Iraqi Finance Ministry.

Some of the people named in the lengthy list are in prison, others at large while some of them are already executed.
