US Embassy: A monitoring program will be launched on government spending in Iraq


(Independent) …. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) said it will launch a “Takamul” program that will support the Iraqi government in terms of economic reform, public financial management, monitoring and public spending.

The agency said in a statement that it will launch tomorrow at the Babylon Hotel, in the presence of US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silliman, representatives of the Iraqi government from the Ministry of Planning and the Supreme Coordination Council and other government institutions, the program “Tamkul” funded by the Agency American Development Agency.

The statement added that the program “Takamul” will support the Iraqi government in terms of economic reform and public financial management and control and supervision of public spending, and improve the response to the needs of citizens in various provinces of Iraq and provide services through supporting economic reform initiatives led by Iraq.
