Iraq and the World Bank sign two projects with half a billion dollars

The World Bank Group and the Iraqi government on Wednesday signed two projects worth half a billion dollars on the sidelines of the ongoing Kuwait International Conference on Iraq Reconstruction.

The cost of the two projects exceeded $ 510 million to help the Iraqi people by improving living conditions, enhancing water supply and creating jobs.
Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi and World Bank Group Chairman Jim Young-Kim attended the signing ceremony.

The two projects will increase the size of the World Bank’s commitments in Iraq to $ 4.7 billion from $ 600 million four years ago, and the $ 750 million emergency operations program for development.
