Al-Hantal calls for the allocation of financial grants to develop infrastructure and restore stability

The head of the Iraqi Private Banks Association, Wadih al-Hanalal, said on Thursday that the $ 500 million UAE grant to support the stability and peace process inside Iraq is not new to the UAE, which has started to support Iraq over the past years.

"The UAE grant is not new because it has been a pioneer in supporting Iraq over the past years," Al-Hantal told Al-Khaleej newspaper in an interview with Al-Ittihad News. "The UAE grant will go to support infrastructure and strategic projects."

He pointed out that "the funds obtained by Iraq from countries in the Kuwait Conference should go part of it to support small projects to move the economy through the provision of jobs and the fight against unemployment and poverty."

He added that "Iraq looks forward to a greater role for UAE companies to participate in the development of Iraq's infrastructure," calling on UAE companies to "cooperate with Iraqi companies to help them to succeed and to facilitate the obstacles facing them."
