Abadi: Kuwait stands by its Iraqi brothers and will not leave them alone
Our relationship with Kuwait is fundamental and we seek to strengthen it economically and socially
We invite the Kuwaiti investment companies to enter the Iraqi investment arena
Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi described his country's relationship with the State of Kuwait as fundamental and called for strengthening it at all levels, including economic and social ones.

"He always cited the great transformation of the bilateral relations between Iraq and Kuwait, which moved from a state of hostility during the control of the Baath party and Saddam's invasion of Kuwait to the state of fraternity and rapprochement now," Abadi said during a reception on Monday evening.
He expressed his thanks to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for the establishment of the Iraq Reconstruction Conference scheduled for February 12 in Kuwait.

He explained that this Kuwaiti position sent important messages to the Iraqi people that Kuwait stands by its Iraqi brothers and will not leave them alone, stressing that his government hopes that this development will not be limited to relations on the political side only, but extends to the media, cultural and popular aspects.
He expressed the hope that the reconstruction conference will stimulate the investment process in Iraq, especially in the sectors of housing, agriculture, trade and others.
Abadi called on Kuwaiti investment companies to enter the Iraqi investment arena, pointing out that his government has taken several measures to reduce the bureaucratic procedures in dealing with investors.

He pointed out that the government set up a high committee for investment under his chairmanship to be the only window to the investor and divert them from resorting to more than one to obtain investment licenses.

Abadi welcomed the proposals made by the Kuwaiti media delegation to grant certain facilities in the mechanisms of granting investment licenses to the companies participating in the conference for the reconstruction of Iraq in Kuwait, while he considered that the proposal needs parliamentary legislation that defines mechanisms and controls.
