When will the Iraqi dinar be revalued?

    Q:
When will the Iraqi dinar be revalued?

    A:
    QUICK ANSWER
The revaluation of the Iraqi dinar is ready to be implemented by the country's Central Bank; however, the Parliamentary Economic and Investment Commission has decided to postpone the revaluation to 2019. The plan is to eliminate zeros from the value of the Iraqi currency, allowing the dinar to gain value on the global market.

    Can this be true??

(a repost from the FaceBook Group).

BGG ~ Could it be true? Possibly.

Is it a "lock" this is actual fact. NO.

    1) This comes, VERBATIM, from a "cheap shot" write-up on a website called Reference.com - This write-up is heavily slanted in favor of more traditional investor resources.

    2) The original version they based their "slanted" views on was a not-so-news based write-up on a blog called Iraqinews.com (whom I have been long skeptical of). I'm not sure they aren't a US based "copy shop" for Iraqi looking news.

    3) This whole premise is based on one comment by one person - who likely isn't there now - or won't be there long...

"...A member of the Parliamentary Economic and Investment Commission, MP Noura al-Bajari..."

Does this person have final say? Does the IMF, WB and UN have some input, since they will be the ones giving loans, assistance, buying the IQD and holding it for them?

There is a very big push to re-integrate Iraq with world markets and economies. This will be a determining factor, not what one obscure member of a Committee which the new outlet can't even get pronounced and written about accurately.

It's the "Parliamentary Economic and Investment Committee" - NOT a "commission".

    1. That decision is in the hands of the CBI governor.

    2. The CBI is supposedly independent of the GOI per the recent banking law.
