Kurdistan: Baghdad didn't give up military option

Baghdad has not given up the military option to resolve differences with the Kurdistan region, the Chancellor of the Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC) Masrour Barzani, on Monday.

Barzani's remarks came after a meeting with German Ambassador Cyril Nun and his accompanying delegation.

Both sides discussed bilateral relations between Erbil and Berlin, and the latest developments in the region and the outstanding differences between Arbil and Baghdad.

The German ambassador said his country supports the start of negotiations as soon as possible between Baghdad and Erbil in accordance with the principles of the Constitution.

"The Kurdistan region hopes not to repeat the problems of the past because it will increase instability and pave the way for the growth of terrorism again, creating more problems for the region and the international community.", Barzani added.

Barzani wished that Kurdistan region would resume negotiations with Baghdad as soon as possible to lift the embargo imposed on the Kurdistan region.
