Iraq is working to recover its frozen funds abroad

The Iraqi government said on Tuesday it was working to recover funds frozen in countries because of the policies of the former regime.

The Security Council decided, on December 8, to lift Iraq from the seventh item, which makes freedom of Iraqi companies in the contracting countries.

The financial adviser to the Prime Minister, the appearance of Mohammed Saleh, in an interview with "Economy News", "There is a fund to recover funds in the Ministry of Finance dealing with the money of the former regime."

He added that "there is high coordination in this regard with the money-recovery team in the Council of Ministers, which includes in its membership ministries and departments and all parties involved and coordinate recovery operations.
