US development agency reveals its efforts to help Iraq in the field of electricity

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) senior adviser Thomas Stahl revealed on Saturday that his agency is seeking assistance to Iraq in the field of electricity, noting that the agency focuses on liberated areas in Iraq during “emergencies”.
“I am here to develop aid to a more specific size for minorities in the Nineveh Plain, Sinjar and elsewhere, and humanitarian assistance will be provided to support the return of families,” senior adviser Thomas Stall told a news conference in Baghdad.
“In emergencies, we focus on areas liberated from Iraq and see if there are short-term projects for Iraq,” Stall said.
“In the long term, Iraq needs to develop electricity and water and we are trying to help the Iraqi government in the long run to develop its capabilities to promote these projects in the future,” he said.
