80 Jordanian trucks crossing Trebil daily

Jordanian truck owners' captain Mohammed Khair al-Daoud estimated on Monday the number of trucks carrying goods through the port of Trebil at 80 trucks a day during the current period.

"The number of trucks transporting goods to Iraq will rise through the port of Trebil at the beginning of next year," he said, adding that "Iraqi traders began importing their goods through the port of Aqaba."

Al-Daoud pointed out that "the biggest impediment facing the Jordanian" refrigerators "is the absence of export markets because of the traditional markets' suspension of importing goods, including the Gulf countries, asking the competent authorities to find alternative markets."

He pointed out that "one of the obstacles facing Jordanian trucks is the Egyptian side's insistence on the entry of Jordanian trucks entering Egypt," and called for "the decision not to allow the transfer of ownership of the heads of the tractor owned by companies to individuals."

"The continuation of the decision will extend its negative dimensions to the sector in addition to the loss of trucks market value by a larger percentage."
