Iraq and Saudi Arabia resume air traffic with 140 flights per month

Iraq’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Rushdie al-Ani, announced the return of flights between the two countries starting next Monday.
Al-Ani said flights between the Kingdom and Iraq would reach 140 flights per month, including seven cargo flights, starting next Monday.
Al-Ani confirmed the readiness of six Iraqi airports to receive Saudi aircraft, which will be launched from four airports from the Kingdom.
Al-Ani said that the kingdom currently has two consulates in Iraq, one of which is open in Erbil and another that the kingdom has requested to reopen in Basra, which was open and closed in 1990, leaving only administrative procedures to open soon.
Saudi Arabia has suspended flights to Iraq for nearly three decades for political reasons.
