The Central Bank of Iraq directs banks to implement the user protection network

The Central Bank of Iraq, on Monday, Iraqi banks need to adopt the standards of the user protection network and approved by the company Swift International before the end of 2017.

"The central bank's demand came as part of the commitment of the Iraqi banking sector to apply international standards in the field of remittances," said the director of the information office of the Central Bank of Iraq, Acer Jabbar.

"The sixteen user protection standards can be summed up by the need to restrict access to the Internet, separate sensitive systems from the general IT environment, and reduce cyber attacks and vulnerabilities," he said.

"Other criteria include security intuition to protect against access to Internet sites, storage, prevention of safe password detection, management of bank identification numbers, separation of privileges, detection of suspicious activities within the system, registration of operations, plans to respond to different situations (errors and incidents) .
