Basra to impose new duties on the import of goods to provide four billion per month



The Financial Control Committee of the Basra Provincial Council announced on Tuesday the imposition of new collection fees on importers to maximize the resources of the province, noting that the new fees provide four billion dinars per month.

Chairman of the Committee Ahmad Al-Sulaiti told Al-Maaloumah that he had submitted a proposal to the governor to approve it and then discuss it in the council and vote on it.

He added that "the proposal includes the imposition of new duties on importers of goods, taking into account not to harm the citizen," adding that "these fees will increase the resources of the province of Basra to complete its projects."


He pointed out that "the proposal provides up to four billion dinars per month for the province of Basra."
