Asiacell: We paid 5 trillion dinars "taxes and fees" to the Iraqi government

Asiacell (TASC), listed on the Iraqi stock exchange, has so far paid nearly 5 trillion dinars ($ 4.195 billion) to the Iraqi government for license fees, taxes of various kinds and fees.
The company said in a statement that it is an Iraqi company registered with the Registrar of Companies in Baghdad, and offices spread throughout Iraq and the largest in the capital Baghdad, and cover extends to all parts of the country.
The company also confirmed its compliance with all laws and decisions issued by the competent government authorities according to the law. The mobile phone companies are organized by the Iraqi Media and Communications Commission, and the two companies (Zain Iraq and Cork Telecom) have been granted work permits by the Media and Communications Authority.
“Asayasil” that it has employees from all Iraqi provinces working, and the number of its subscribers so far exceeded 12 million Iraqis distributed throughout Iraq.
Asiacell’s statement comes on the back of the Iraqi government’s announcement last week of its attempts to control a mobile phone operator based in the province of Sulaymaniyah, which lies within the territory of northern Iraq’s Kurdistan region.
