Erbil gov't declares openness for negotiations with Baghdad

Kurdistan Region government is ready for any negotiations with Baghdad's central government, including negotiating the oil and natural gas fields-related crisis, KRG Spokesman Sven Dzie said Saturday.

He added that Erbil was open to any negotiations before and after the referendum to solve any problems.

He added that Kurdistan had agreements with Baghdad in 2014 and while the agreements terms were carried out properly until 2015, Baghdad violated all these agreements afterwards, noting that despite all that Kurdistan is ready for any negotiations.

Dzie asserted that Erbil has pre-conditions as Baghdad does, noting the necessity of initiating an immediate discussion to end this crisis.

This comes as Kurdistan carried out an independence referendum on the 25th of September that caused a rift between Baghdad and Erbil.
