Reduced prices of Internet service provided to citizens

Up to 25 percent starting next month

The Ministry of Communications is preparing to make a new reduction in the Internet service available to citizens up to 25 percent in early November, in the meantime, the ministry revealed the introduction of prepaid cards with a secret code and a number to receive complaints against owners of towers.
The ministry's senior technical agent, Amir al-Bayati, said in an exclusive interview to Al-Sabah: "The Ministry of Communications is working to reduce the tariffs for internet service provided to citizens of towers, to 25 percent of current prices in early November.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Communications oversees the optical cable project, which will improve the quality of the Internet in the country to 10 times the current Internet while ensuring non-interruption, while the ministry expected that the end of the project at the end of this year after the completion rate of 93 percent.
He added that the ministry has set up committees to follow up the quantity of packages available to the citizens and the price of service in order to implement the reduction and its impact on the citizen, while ensuring that the new pricing is not manipulated under the pretext of increasing the capacity to stay on current prices.
Al-Bayati pointed out that the ministry will provide citizens with programs through (servers), especially through which the package through the Internet subscription for a certain amount, through the monthly subscription card, which will be accessible to the citizen instead of the card owner of the Internet tower, The same that these cards contain a number to receive complaints from citizens of towers and a secret code helps citizens to see the quality of service and pricing directly.
For his part, the official spokesman of the ministry Hazem Mohammed Ali in a statement to the "morning": The General Company for Communications and Infrastructure in the ministry coordinated with the General Company for the services of the International Network of Information on the Internet service, in order to provide the technical, legal and administrative requirements for the reduction process. He pointed out that the ministry is keen to achieve price stability in the market for Internet service, while creating an atmosphere of competition between the private sector companies competent to improve and develop the quality of services provided to citizens in Baghdad and the provinces of all countries, while lifting the financial imports of the ministry in light of the financial crisis experienced by The country due to falling oil prices globally.
