Prime Minister "Haider Abadi", on Thursday, rejected the possibility of any clashes with the Kurdish Peshmerga forces, calling for them to join the Iraqi security forces.

"I call on the Peshmerga to be part of the Iraqi forces under the banner of the federal authority," Abadi told a joint conference with his French counterpart Macaron. "We do not want an armed confrontation and we do not want hostilities or clashes."

"We respect the aspirations of the Kurdish citizens, but we have to work together and the federal authority should be extended to all regions. I ask the Peshmerga to cooperate with the Iraqi forces, as I have already done in Mosul," he said.

Abadi, who arrived in Paris at the head of a ministerial delegation comprising ministers of industry, defense, oil, agriculture, higher education and human rights, will focus on the issue of war and the economic relations between the two countries.
