The ministry's spokesman Musab al-Mursh said that the ministry's work is currently focused on rehabilitating the electrical grid joints in the liberated areas, especially in Nineveh province, by unifying the efforts of the General Directorate for the transfer of electric power in the northern region, the Upper Euphrates and Upper Euphrates, In the southern region, as these districts managed to restore the important power lines in the province of Nineveh, including the line of the bridge Qayara connector after it succeeded in repairing it and linking it to the high pressure line. He pointed out that the ministry's staff was able to restore 33 towers to transfer energy in record time after securing the ground by the military engineering teams, in addition to the erection of 33 towers and the transfer of the production of the Mosul dam to the area of ​​Qayara and areas south of the city of Mosul. The teacher added that the cadres were also able to transfer 300 MW of electricity that was in the dam station, and thus contributed to provide electricity for more than 20 hours in a number of areas, and expected to raise the capacity transmitted through this line to 400 MW. He pointed out that the ministry has signed two contracts with two investment companies to supply the province of Nineveh electricity, capacity of 375 MW as a first stage up to 875 MW, in exchange for delivery of crude oil instead of cash through the Ministry of Oil.
He confirmed that the ministry is in the process of concluding a contract with one of the companies to set up a refinery in the Qayyarah station in order to supply them with fuel, because the station is almost suspended because of the difficulty of delivering the necessary derivatives for its operation. A unit or two is operated every week at a maximum capacity of 100 MW. Four of them are damaged as a result of sabotage and terrorist operations. The teacher noted that the need for energy Nineveh range between 1500 to 2000 megawatts and currently is equipped with up to 700 MW, revealing at the same time the coverage of the province contracts service and collection and there are companies that applied for those contracts.
