Jassem Mohammed Jaafar Thursday revealed a joint Iraqi-Turkish agreement to dispense with the oil pipeline that passes through Kurdistan in exchange for repairing the Mosul pipeline.

Jafar said in a statement obtained by "Trend Press" a copy of it, the Iraqi-Turkish agreement is to completely dispense with the Iraqi oil pipeline passing through Kurdistan and allocated for the transfer of Iraqi crude to the port of Ceyhan in the coming days.

"The two countries have decided to speed up the repair of an alternative oil pipeline that is currently inoperable near the Mosul Dam after Iraqi forces control parts of the disputed areas," he said.

Pointing out that "this measure will enable the two countries to trade and oil in a normal way and will deprive the region of massive economic imports as punishment for the step of holding a referendum on secession from Iraq if it continues."
