The Kurdistan Regional Minister of Transport Mawdul Bawah Murad said on Wednesday that the airports of Sulaymaniyah and Erbil, built by the decisions and budget of the Kurdistan Regional Government, in response to the decision of the Council of Ministers in Baghdad to hand them to the center.
"Baghdad's claim to the region to hand over Erbil and Sulaymaniyah airports is a clear hostility to Kurdistan," Bawa Murad told a joint news conference with the directors of Arbil and Sulaymaniyah airports, adding that "the airports in Kurdistan were built by the decisions and budget of the provincial government."
He added that "the decision of the Baghdad government affects the lives of humanitarian citizens," noting that "our airports did not commit irregularities and we are ready for dialogue," noting that "their relationship continues with the authority of aviation and subject to its supervision."
"We are in contact with the Baghdad authorities throughout the day and we have confidence in the transport ministry of Baghdad and are ready for dialogue to implement the resolution," he said.

"If the Baghdad resolution aims to punish the people of Kurdistan on the independence referendum, we will not reach a solution," he said, adding that "the Iraqi government bears responsibility for the damage caused by the companies to take decisions on airports Erbil and Sulaymaniyah," as he put it. https://www.mawazin.net/%D8%A7%D9%82%...8%AA%D8%B3%D9%
