    The Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works completed its plan for the year 2018 for services and infrastructure, at a time when it achieved completion rates of 74% in the implementation of the project cooling towers in Shuaiba refineries in Basra.
    The director of the media center of the ministry, Ahmed Awat told "Al-Sabah" that the Directorate of Public Municipalities affiliated to the ministry, instructed all municipal departments to prepare their plan for next year related to services and infrastructure, noting that all municipal institutions have completed the preparation of their budgets, while an expanded meeting will be held in the ministry for Approved and submitted to the Ministry of Finance to ratify it in turn to launch financial allocations sufficient to start service projects starting next year.
    He explained that the representative of the Supreme Coordination Body of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, instructed the representatives of local governments in all governorates to coordinate with the Ministry of Construction, Municipalities and Public Works, in order to prepare the necessary disclosures for all service institutions to ensure the speedy implementation.
    On the other hand, Awat said, the technical staff in the Saad General Company of the Ministry of Construction and Housing, has achieved very advanced stages in the implementation of the cooling towers project for the South Refineries Company affiliated to the Ministry of Oil, 74 percent, and the adoption of technical specifications required, The project, which cost seven billion dinars, consists of the tower building which is an integrated system with a capacity of 12 thousand square meters per hour working on cooling the water used in the cooling joints Shuaiba refineries and new laboratories that are under construction soon.
    He stressed that this system is working to increase the capacity of the refinery as well as to improve the quality of derivatives, especially gasoline to be suitable for cars and modern machines that entered the country recently and thus reduce the import of these products, as part of the plans of the Ministry to support the national product to meet the needs of the local market.
    The director of the center told the ministry that Saad's staff had already started the civil works of laying the foundations of the tower and the concrete structure, which is 18 meters high, in addition to its service buildings and mechanical works.
