Forming a committee to implement the Baghdad metro project
The Ministry of Transport has reached the advanced stages of completion of the service road to the port of Faw and the development of service roads in the ports of Umm Qasr and Abu Floss, while formed a committee in coordination with the Secretariat of Baghdad for the purpose of providing information and proposals for the project of the Baghdad Metro to be established during the coming period.
The company's engineering and technical staff are currently working on the completion of the project to extend the service road to the port of Faw and projects to establish a service road width of 30 m and the exit of trucks and yards to stand trucks in the port of Umm Qasr, As well as the projects of streets and the establishment of a service building and shock barriers in the port of Abu Floss.
He added that the company is following up these projects intensively and overcome the obstacles in order to accelerate completion in accordance with the time limits set for them.
The source pointed to the formation of the company in coordination with the Secretariat of Baghdad, a subcommittee consisting of specialists for the purpose of providing information and proposals for the project of the Baghdad Metro, indicating that the discussions took place a long time ago between the Minister of Transport Kazem Wajan Alhamami and Amina Baghdad to discuss how to establish this project.
He pointed out that the director of the company Osama Mohammed Sadiq al-Sadr held a meeting with the director of the implementation department and department managers concerned to discuss the work in the Karbala Hall at Baghdad International Airport, as it was agreed to facilitate the work of completion.
He added that the company is also implementing the engineering consulting project, which is one of the important projects in terms of modern construction method and the materials used in it. It aims to provide engineering consultancy in various specialties and prepare technical and economic feasibility studies for the projects entrusted to the company and the ministry and other ministries.
