Speaker of Parliament discusses with the delegation of the Institute of International Law the constitutionality of the referendum

Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri on Tuesday discussed with the delegation of the Institute of International Law the developments of the Iraqi political scene, the file of the Kurdistan Regional referendum and its conformity with the constitution.

"The Speaker of the Parliament, Salim al-Jubouri, received in his office a delegation of the Institute of International Law and Human Rights, where he discussed the latest developments in the political scene in Iraq and the region, as was discussed the file of the referendum in the Kurdistan region and the extent Conformity with the Constitution ".

Jabouri stressed that "the current stage requires the initiation of an in-depth and frank dialogue between all parties," pointing out "the importance of keeping away from convulsions in positions and the superiority of the language of reason and logic in order to preserve the unity of the country."

"We are now in a stage where everyone must unite efforts to eliminate a terrorist organization, to work on the reconstruction of liberated cities and to return displaced people to their areas as soon as possible," he said.

He called for "the benefit of international expertise in the legal aspect of resolving disputes and resolving differences, which will prevent us in the future many conflicts and problems."

"The House of Representatives is working in cooperation with the Institute of International Law to consolidate the concept of justice and citizenship in the country by introducing the work of human rights organizations and those concerned with human rights."
