Gulf companies looking to participate in reconstruction of Iraq

An official in the Arabian Gulf said on Wednesday that construction companies and others in the Gulf Cooperation Council looks forward to participating in reconstruction projects in Iraq, stressing that it has the potential to qualify for this role.
Abdul Rahim Naqi, secretary-general of the Council of Chambers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states that the Gulf States have made significant progress in many fields, including communications, construction, tourism and tourism.
He stressed that the Gulf private sector has accumulated experience in the implementation of infrastructure projects within the GCC and beyond, and that it has proved its ability to do so because of the technical and financial possibilities of financing these projects.
“The Gulf private sector companies have the technical and financial capabilities to implement the infrastructure when it provides opportunities for support and support from the government sector in any country, whether Gulf or Arab or foreign .. On this basis, if the Iraqi government to provide advocacy and support to the private sector, I think that Gulf companies are looking for investment opportunities in the field of construction and reconstruction, and I do not think they will miss this opportunity in Iraq. ”
The Secretary-General considered that the stability and development of Iraq is a strategic goal not only for the Gulf States, but for all countries in the Middle East and the world, pointing out that the GCC countries will not delay in supporting the reconstruction process in Iraq.
He added that “there are many areas that can be supported by the Gulf States in the sister country of Iraq, the transport sector of various types, the telecommunications and technology sector, the tourism sector, construction and construction, finance sector, education and training, health, these areas achieved by the Gulf countries “The Iraqi government can benefit from the experiences of the Gulf states in these areas.”
An international donor conference under the auspices of the World Bank is scheduled to be held in Kuwait in early 2018 to discuss reconstruction projects in Iraq, after the liberation of most of the areas from Dahesh.
An Iraqi official said last week that the cost of reconstruction in Iraq was estimated by the World Bank at about $ 150 billion.
