PM @HaiderAlAbadi holds his weekly press conference, briefs media on @IraqiGovt’s position on national and international developments:

It is three years since this government came to office, and it has overseen significant changes in Iraq.

We moved from the defensive in our war with Daesh to the offensive.

We are working on a UN draft resolution on terrorism and holding its sponsors to account.

We stabilized the economy, are pressing ahead with our reforms. We are on the right path to achieve prosperity.

We are methodically fighting corruption and the corrupt, aided by international expertise.

Iraq is now a respected and valued nation in the region and globally.

I will visit New York next week to attend the UNGA and meet world leaders.

We have clear objectives for the New York visit, chief amongst them is world support for reconstruction.

We are not asking the world for a favour; the world owes Iraq for the scarifies of Iraqis who defeated Daesh.

Myself and the Cabinet reiterate that Iraq is indivisible.

We and our Kurdish citizens have a shared history and future.

All differences must be resolved through dialogue, and not by imposing will on others.
