The judiciary releases the attackers Petronas oil company in Dhi Qar for lack of evidence


A local source in al-Rifai district, north of Dhi Qar province, said Monday that the judiciary had released the defendants from the Malaysian company Petronas last month.

"The judiciary decided to release five people arrested last month on charges of attacking Petronas, a Malaysian company operating in the oil field of Gharraf in the district of Rifai, north of the city of Nasiriyah, the center of Dhi Qar province," the source said.

He pointed out that "the five who were arrested last month were referred to the judiciary under Article 4 terrorism, but it was decided to release them for lack of evidence," pointing out that "the released now on their way to the district of Rifai."

A security source revealed to Al-Ghad Press last month that unidentified gunmen attacked a protection point belonging to the Petronas oil company invested in the Gharraf oil field with the missile "RBG7" in the district of Rifai north of Dhi Qar province.
