Deputy: Social Insurance Law aims to save the pension fund from bankruptcy

A member of the Iraqi parliament, Hassan Turan, confirmed on Monday that the social insurance law voted by the cabinet aims to save the pension fund from bankruptcy, pointing out that the law has not yet reached the House of Representatives.
"The law of social insurance has not reached the House of Representatives so far, to be referred to the relevant committees, including the committees of finance, labor, services and legal," he said, calling for "the law to be balanced and stop waste in public money , By giving huge resignations and attention to the martyrs and political prisoners. "
He added that "the purpose of the law is to prevent duplication in the receipt of retirement, which is part of the requirements of the International Monetary Fund, and save the pension fund from bankruptcy," saying that "because the waste of public money in this form will go bankrupt (pension fund)."
He stressed the need to preserve the rights of martyrs and political prisoners, because they sacrificed their blood, but not with the integration of more than a pension.
The Office of the Prime Minister Haider Abadi, announced last Monday, 21 August 2017, details of the draft law on social insurance, indicating that the project includes many branches including retirement, aging, death and work injuries.
