Baghdad's Operations Command announced on Tuesday that it had found 161 items of explosives and explosives in Mada'in, south of Baghdad.

"In compliance with the directives of Baghdad Operations Commander Major General Jalil al-Rubaie, our security forces continue to clean up the various sections of responsibility from the remnants of terrorist gangs," the command said in a statement received by al-Ghad Press.


"A brigade of the 1st Battalion, 42th Infantry Division, managed to carry out a pre-emptive operation under the command of Major General Wamir Al-Fog, with an intelligence officer, a brigade and a detachment of engineering effort and with the participation of a detachment from the Nahrawan Intelligence and Anti-Terrorism Division, (161) items of equipment, explosives and improvised explosive devices within the district of Mada'in in the region of the Ljj hidden in the yard Metroka near the dump of rubble.


"The dignitaries and the people of the region expressed their gratitude for the efforts of the security forces to provide a safe life and the elimination of terrorist gangs, and wish the victory and prosperity of our brave army and great Iraq."
