The immigration agent complains to the UN representative about the failure of relief organizations to care for the displaced

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Displacement and Migration, Jassim Al-Attiyah, on Wednesday discussed with Bruno Gedo, representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the role of international relief organizations and the situation in the Nineveh regions.

"The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Displacement and Migration Jassim Al-Attiyah met at the headquarters of the ministry in Baghdad, Bruno Gedo, representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees," the ministry said in a statement received by Al-Ghad Press.

The statement said the two sides "discussed a number of topics, notably the work of the United Nations organizations in the areas of Salmiya and Nimrod, located in the province of Nineveh."

Al-Attiyah spoke about "the failures of a number of organizations and the problems experienced by the ministry because of these failures and ways to overcome them." He called for "changing the situation in the camps of Salameh and Nimrod to accommodate other numbers of displaced people and provide better services for displaced people from Mosul and surrounding areas."

For his part, Bruno Gedo promised to "intensify efforts and communicate with the Iraqi government through the Ministry of Immigration."
