Jubouri: Political parties bear responsibility for the stability of liberated areas

Speaker of the House of Representatives Saleem al-Jubouri and US envoy to the International Alliance, Brett McCurk, reviewed the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the region and the bilateral relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them.
A statement issued by the Information Office of the Speaker of the Parliament said that Al-Jubouri discussed during his meeting with McCork the means of developing bilateral cooperation mechanisms, especially with regard to the international efforts in the file of combating terrorism and the course of the liberation battle in Tall Afar. .
He stressed that Iraq is facing a major challenge as it struggles to liberate Tal Afar, which requires mobilizing international efforts to eradicate extremist ideology that threatens the region and the world. He stressed the importance of maintaining coordination between Iraq and the international coalition to liberate the remaining Iraqi territories from the grip of the terrorist.
"The responsibility of restoring stability in liberated areas lies with all political parties, which we hope will be particularly active in the community reconciliation issue and send messages of reassurance to all the country's partners," he added.
He called on the President of the legislative authority, the United States and the international community, to contribute to the reconstruction of the liberated areas from the grip of Dahesh, through investment and all sectors.
For his part, McCork confirmed US support for Iraq in its fight against terrorism. He also stressed the need to maintain coordination between the two countries, especially with regard to security and economic files.
