Erdogan holds a "closed meeting" with the Chief of Staff of Iran in Ankara
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Wednesday received Iranian Chief of Staff General Mohammad Baqeri in the Turkish capital of Ankara.

According to the agency "Anatolia" Turkish, the meeting was closed in the presidential compound, took 50 minutes.

The Turkish presidency did not issue any statement on the content of the meeting.
Turkish Chief of Staff Khulosi Akar on Tuesday received his Iranian counterpart General Mohammad Baqeri at the headquarters of the body in Ankara, where he held a closed meeting.

The two sides discussed the situation in Syria and Iraq and the decision of the Kurdistan region to hold a referendum on separation from Baghdad.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloud Gawishoglu said on Wednesday that the Russian chief of staff would visit Ankara to discuss the establishment of a zone to stop the escalation in the Syrian province of Idlib with his Turkish and Iranian counterparts.

He said in an interview with the channel "TRT" news that General Valery Girasimov will discuss in Ankara the establishment of a new area to ease the escalation in Syria, this time in the province of Idlib, controlled by the "Front of the Levant" (former victory).
