The Iraqi Parliament passed on Tuesday provincial councils' election bill with the exception of Kirkuk Governorate.
The Parliamentary Legal Committee on Thursday announced that the parliament is considering a new bill of Kirkuk's provincial elections.

Member of the Committee Selim Shawki said that disputes among representatives of Kirkuk in the parliament stand behind parliament's decision to postpone the vote on article 37 of the election law.

Earlier this month, the Iraqi Parliament voted in favor of 21 of 53 articles of provincial councils' election bill and maintained a term stipulating that the candidate who wants to run for election shall not be less than 30.
At the time, the parliament also delayed voting on the articles of contention related to Kirkuk status in provincial councils' election bill.
