Khalifa met with Iraqi President Fuad Masum, the presidency said in a statement.

During the meeting, Masum confirmed the need to work collectively for strengthening the Iraqi-Bahraini relations in all fields, including political, economical, and trade, the statement read.

Meanwhile, Bahrain's FM confirmed that his visit to Baghdad will open up new prospects for communication and cooperation between both countries.

Khalifa is the forth Arab minister to visit Iraq in the past 10 days, where Jordanian Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and the Lebanese Defense minister Yacoub Riyad Al-Sarraf visited Iraq on Thursday. Also, Algerian minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel arrived Tuesday in Baghdad.
