Source: Abadi will go to parliament to pass the law "Social Security"
A political source revealed on Sunday that Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi went to the House of Representatives this week to persuade the council to pass the Social Security Law.
The source told Al-Ghad Press that "Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi will go to the House of Representatives in an attempt to persuade the Council to pass the new social security law."

"Abadi intends to pass this law as soon as possible, to achieve pension guarantees for all workers in the private sector in Iraq, and to stop the appetite of graduates for government appointments."
He explained that "Abadi will hold talks with the Presidency and the leaders of the parliamentary blocs," noting that the Prime Minister "made a telephone call to Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jubouri, and set a date for it."

The source also revealed that "Abadi directed to cancel appointments in a number of ministries that suffer from sagging, and to reduce the government grades to the minimum, after the passage of social security."
He pointed out that "the project aims to achieve pension justice for all citizens working in the private sector, and equal with the public sector, according to a mechanism approved by international experts, and the World Bank was a partner in some formulations."

The head of the Labor and Social Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives, confirmed to "Al-Gharab Press" on Saturday, that "the Social Security Law voted by the Council of Ministers last week, will reach parliament next week, indicating that the law will include all workers in the private sector "He said.
The cabinet, voted on Tuesday (1 August), during its regular session chaired by Haider Abadi, on the draft social security law for workers in the private sector.
