Iraq, Iran sign memorandum of understanding on security cooperation

On Sunday, the Iranian and Iraqi Interior Ministry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Tehran for bilateral security cooperation on organizing the 40th Imam Al Hussein's visit.

According to the IRNA news agency, the memorandum of understanding signed by Iran's Interior Minister Abdul Reza Rahmani and his Iraqi counterpart Qassem al-Araji provides for measures to be taken on how to organize the 40th anniversary ceremonies, provide security for visitors and monitor the borders of the two countries.

It is worth mentioning that millions of Iranian visitors go to Iraq each year to perform the visit of the 40 th Al-Husayn on the 20th of Safar and visit the mausoleums of the Imams in Iraq.

Interior Minister Qassim al-Araji arrived in Tehran on Saturday for an official visit to Tehran.
