Kurdistan Region is now able to export the surplus of agricultural products as the industry is growing in the region.
Kurdistan Region’s Minister of Agriculture, Abdulsattar Majid, told BasNews that several different products are among those Kurdistan Region is now able to send to the neighbouring markets.
Iraq is the main target market for the products, he said, revealing that Kurdistan Region produced 1.5 million tons of wheat in 2017, sending most of it to Iraq. Majid stated that there are plans to export other products, including potato, to Russia in the near future.
