Iraq decided on Wednesday to ban all its banks from dealing with North Korea based on a UN Security Council resolution which prohibits all financial deals with Pyongyang.
“All banks and non-bank financial institutions must take caution and not deal with North Korea in any form of banking or financial transactions,” the central bank of Iraq said in a statement as reported by Economy News.
“This is based on UN Security Council resolutions on the prohibition of dealing with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK),” the bank said.
