Baghdad provincial council: the financial budget has shrunk 20 times

Baghdad’s provincial council revealed on Wednesday that the budget allocated to the capital’s periphery has been reduced by about 20 times, pointing out that basic services are available while all development projects have stopped due to lack of financial liquidity.
Council member Fadel al-Shuwaili said in a press interview that “the budget allocated to the outskirts of the capital Baghdad has shrunk by about 20 times,” noting that “the amount of the budget before 2014 was about trillion and 900 billion dinars, while the previous budget allocated about 175 billion dinars only and did not pay those amounts By the government what made it a budget on paper only. ”
He added that “basic services are available from drinking water and remove dirt from the alleys and electricity and maintenance of strategic projects, while all development projects were stopped for lack of liquidity.”
