Al Suhail invites Jordanian companies to participate in Baghdad International Fair

The Ambassador of Iraq to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Safia Al-Suhail affirmed her country's keenness to develop economic relations with Jordan in the interest of the two brotherly peoples and to reopen the Trebil crossing once the security and logistical preparations have been completed.

In a meeting held at the embassy's headquarters with the Board of Directors of the Jordan Chamber of Industry, she called on Jordanian companies to participate in the Baghdad International Fair, which is held periodically and includes dozens of international companies, because of its positive effects on bilateral cooperation between the local Iraqi market and the companies participating in the exhibition. Facilities for granting Jordanian investors visas to Iraq in cooperation with Jordan Chamber of Industry to facilitate the trade exchange between the two countries and facilitate the transport of goods. For his part, the President of the Chamber Adnan Abu Ragheb, the importance of the Iraqi market for the Jordanian industrial sector The export markets of Jordanian industrial products, stressing that Jordan looks forward to being a party to the reconstruction operations in the liberated areas.

He stressed during the meeting the readiness of the industrial sector to participate in the Baghdad International Fair, which will be held before the end of this year, pointing to the presence of a permanent exhibition for the Jordanian industry in Baghdad.

The Jordanian monarch Abdullah II expressed optimism about the situation in Iraq, and hope to open the border crossing between Jordan and Iraq during the current year. He pointed out in an interview with a number of media that "today began to clear the features of the road for Iraq and Syria and there are positive signs ."

It should be noted that the Jordanian Minister of Information, spokesman of the government, Dr. Mohamed Momani, announced that the problem of reopening the crossing of Trebil is not only the crossing, but the need to secure the road between the crossing and the Iraqi provinces, in order to maintain the safety of drivers.

He referred to talks between the Jordanian and Iraqi military chiefs on Wednesday to discuss the opening of the Trebil port, the handling of international trade stalled since 2014, the securing of the road and the exchange of information to open it .

He pointed out that Iraq is close to the referral of tenders to semi-security companies working to secure the road, in preparation for re-opening, indicating that the reopening of the crossing is beneficial to both the Iraqi and Jordanian parties.
