Al-Sudani: We look forward to partnerships that promote the national industry

Expert stresses that the transition to a market economy will benefit everyone

An expert in the industry supported the Ministry of Industry to establish partnerships between the public, private and mixed sectors. Expert Aqeel Al-Saadi told Al-Sabah that these partnerships, if implemented properly and as in some countries that have moved to the market economy, will benefit everyone.
"The industrial sector is facing the challenge of flooding the market with foreign goods, both high quality and bad, although the past three years have seen some kind of movement to stimulate the industry, but it is not enough, if we really want to promote the national industry."
Saadi said that "the government faced a severe financial crisis and because of it was unable to complete its plans to support the private sector," calling for amendments to the laws with the reduction of taxes and wages of services to owners of factories and laboratories with the provision of necessary supplies on the one hand, For the import and protection of the national product ".
The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Eng. Mohamed Shiaa al-Sudani announced the Ministry's aspiration to implement vital and important projects through successful and real partnerships between the governmental, private and mixed industrial sectors. He praised the government decisions supporting the Iraqi industry to enable it to regain its active and real role in strengthening the national economy.
He pointed out that the ministry in turn developed plans and visions aimed at moving the wheel of industry and the operation of industrial laboratories and adopted national campaigns to promote local industry and restore confidence in national production.
Meanwhile, the Industrial Development Directorate of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals continues to provide services to industrial entrepreneurs.
In this regard, Eng. Salam Said Ahmed, Director General of the General Directorate for Industrial Development, said in a statement received "Al-Sabah" a copy of that: "The Directorate continues to provide services to industrial project owners of all kinds," announcing "grant (23) a license to establish industrial projects, (9) plots of land for the establishment of new industrial projects at the time were granted certificates to complete the establishment of other projects meet the required conditions and the existence of certificates and capital of more than (98) million dinars.
"The Directorate continues to conduct periodic reports on industrial projects to determine the size of damages and difficulties and to develop appropriate solutions to them, as they numbered eleven disclosures for all governorates, as the number of new licenses granted (45) license, as well as the Directorate of other miscellaneous service activities.
