Ministry of Agriculture: Production of grapes in the province of Babylon amounted to 67 thousand tons and varieties of it exported abroad
The Ministry of Agriculture announced that the production of the grapes in Babylon amounted to 67 thousand tons, while noting that some of its varieties exported abroad, showed that the productivity of one tree amounted to 60 kg.
The Directorate of Agriculture province of Babylon, in a statement, said that “the province’s production amounted to more than 67 thousand tons of grapes during the current year 2017 and the cultivated area amounted to 6480 acres, including more than one million and 117 thousand and 244 trees distributed over most orchards of the province,” noting that ” Production of one tree is 60 kg.
The Directorate added that “large quantities of it is being exported to the provinces of the center and south after filling the need of the province,” attributed the reasons for the success of planting to “support provided by the Ministry of Agriculture for the owners of orchards and the provision of fertilizers and 60 kg of dap fertilizer and 75 kg of urea per hectare.”
