Parliamentary energy: The work of the petrochemical complex in Basra did not start until it stops

A member of the parliamentary energy committee Zahir al-Abadi said on Wednesday that work on the project of the Nabras complex for petrochemical industries in the province of Basra did not begin until he stopped, noting that the information he owns about the project is real enough to hold anyone who can speak otherwise.

"The Royal Dutch Shell has not taken a decision to stop work on the Nabras petrochemical complex project to be implemented in the province of Basra," Abbadi said in a statement received by Al-Iktissad News. "The legislator did not start work until it is stopped, Because of the lack of land acquisition so far by the Ministry of Industry and non-agreement on the price of gas and quantities that will be prepared for the complex in the future. "

Al-Abbadi called on the media to "be careful in transferring the information, after (what he called) the provocations that occur in which a member of the provincial council of Basra, which was better to verify the source before making any statement and transfer the truth without rattoos in this regard."

"Such projects, which have been years old, should be pursued by the Council of Ministers because of their importance in supporting the economy of the country," he said.
