The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) said on Sunday that the visit of outgoing regional leader Massoud Barzani to France came to put forward the draft referendum on the member states of the Security Council.

"The visit will not be limited to France alone, but there are many visits coming after the decision of the Supreme Committee for the referendum on visits to the member states of the Security Council," Rep. Renas Janno told the Journal News. , Stressing that "the purpose of the visit is to pressure Baghdad to accept the referendum and get support and support of those countries."

And considered the coalition of the rule of law, strong relations linking Kurdistan and Paris long time will push Barzani to exploit it because France is a member of the European Union and has a speech in it.

MP Barzani's visit to France is clear, and focuses on persuading the French side to announce its support for the referendum, "said the MP for the coalition Rasoul Radi.

He added that "the position of European countries as clear and explicit as the US and British position and this means that it is unable to pressure Baghdad because they know the impact of this step on their interests."

He warned that "fragmentation of Iraq leads to chaos that leads to undesirable results by European countries as it considers the Middle East strategic balance of its economy, especially oil and gas."

Kurdish sources announced Barzani's visit to France as part of a private visit without announcing its objectives.

Barzani has also visited France several times, most recently in February when he met with former French President Francois Hollande at the Elysee Palace. The Barzani visited on the ninth of this month, accompanied by a delegation of the Referendum Commission, visited Belgium and held a series of meetings of a number of officials and spoke about the referendum process to be held on the twenty-fifth of September.
