World Bank confirms readiness to help Iraq

The World Bank on Wednesday confirmed its readiness to assist and support the efforts of the Iraqi government and its plans for economic reform.



"The Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi received the regional director of the World Bank," said a statement by the Information Office of the Council of Ministers. "The World Bank Director congratulated Abadi on winning and liberating Mosul."



According to the statement, the director of the bank stressed the "readiness of the bank to assist and support the efforts of the Iraqi government and its plans for economic reform and the promotion of projects for the reconstruction and development of Iraqi cities."



For his part, Prime Minister Haider Abadi stressed the importance of cooperation with the international efforts in support of Iraq, and accelerate the steps of programs related to job creation, economic revitalization and the return of displaced persons to their homes.
