Border crossings declare near the opening of two border crossings with Saudi Arabia

The Director of Border Information, Col. Mohammad Al-Shuwaili, announced Wednesday that two border crossings with Saudi Arabia were to be opened in order to boost economic relations between the two countries.

"Iraq is about to open two border ports with Saudi Arabia in order to promote economic and trade cooperation, which is a good step to connect with the Arab world," Al-Shuwaili told Al-Iqtisad News.

He added that al-Shuwaili that "Iraq is currently looking with Saudi Arabia to open a border with them, specifically in the province of Samawa," pointing out that "the border crossings currently closed is the newborn and the existing with Syria and Trebil with Jordan."

A source in the Iraqi Interior Ministry said that "the Interior Minister in Baghdad Qassim Araji, will discuss the opening of a border port between his country and Saudi Arabia," indicating that "looks forward to the Iraqi Interior Ministry to open the port of Gemayma border within the province of Muthanna and link with Saudi Arabia."
