Jubouri calls on France to play a larger role in the rehabilitation and reconstruction of liberated areas

Speaker of the House of Representatives Saleem al-Jubouri on Wednesday called on France's ambassador to Iraq to play a bigger role in rehabilitating and reconstructing the liberated areas of al-Qa'ida, while discussing with him the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the region.

Al-Jabbouri's office said in a statement received by Al-Ghad Press that the latter "received the French ambassador to Iraq, Borno Obeyer, and discussed the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the region, bilateral relations and means of enhancing them in all fields.
International and regional efforts to support Iraq in its fight against terrorism and the file of reconstruction have been discussed. "

"The necessity of mobilizing the efforts of all regional and international countries to confront the threat of terrorist organizations that are threatening the region and the world," he stressed, stressing the importance of expanding and deepening relations between the two countries and in all fields.

He called for "greater attention to the file of rehabilitation and reconstruction of liberated areas, in addition to the file of the displaced and their relief," praising "the French role in this aspect."

For his part, the French ambassador said that "his country continues to support Iraq and support him," pointing out "the importance of increasing coordination between the two sides in order to accelerate the defeat of terrorism and restore stability to areas that were under the control of a terrorist organization."
